The CD marking the centenary of the birth of Huberta Pettana (1912.-1989.), the composer, musicologist, music publicist and pedagogue. ... The selection of recordings on this CD is a compromise between a wish to present a rich diversity of Hubert Pettan’s creative work, the time limit of the CD and the availability of archived recordings. This is why some of the compositions are represented only by a movement. The consideration of Pettan’s overall opus suggests that his composer’s syllable is characterized by an exceptional sense of melody and melodic tratment, the use of extended tonality and affinity towards certain musical forms.
