The work was written for Zagreb Guitar Trio, initially as Diptych (Allegretto and Vivace), premiered in Celje in Slovenia on 25 February 1986. With added Larghetto, as Triptych, it was first performed in the Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb on 14 March 1987. Zagreb Guitar Trio recorded the Triptych for Jugoton (LP-6-S 2021949) in 1987 and it was reissued on CD „Zagreb 900“ published by Jazzette (BPSE 001) in 1993.
