Veljak, Vid: Resonance(s) II

Resonance(s) II is the second album by the young cellist Vid Veljak, which, like the eponymous debut, is dedicated to Croatian compositions for cello solo and cello with electronics. In the project launched in 2018, Veljak accepted the challenge – to breathe new life into the often neglected domestic compositions for cello solo, and at the same time encourage the creation of new works, generally in close collaboration with composers. At the very beginning of his career, Veljak showed an interest in contemporary music with an emphasis on the works of Croatian composers. The result of this aspiration is his two albums in which the selected compositions represent an interesting cross-section of Croatian music of the 20th and 21st centuries.
