Slovenski komorni zbor: Anthology of Croatian Choral Music, vol.4

In the history of Croatian 20th century music there is a section dedicated to choral works which is particularly interesting. Having emerged from the Romantic background of the 19th century, choral music had been subject to various changes, challenges, stylistic orientations and accomplishments displayed by the pivotal composers of that genre. As part of the edition which has strived, for the past few years, to foreground the most important choral opuses of the 20th century, this fourth album is, in a manner of speaking, a restrospect. It is intended to remind of the starting positions and endings, as well as of a wide stylistic and expressive arch comprising a variety of tendencies that evolved from the beginning until the end of the century. It was a deliberate decision to leave the avant–garde and modern choral opuses out of this list since their artistic value should eo ipso be presented on a separate sound recording.
