Unlike the majority of contemporary composers who resort to foreign languages in search of the titles for their compositions, Olja Jelaska prefers to excite the imagination inherent in the Croatian language. This young composer almost always opts for extramusical titles because, according to her own words, she, 'feels that in this way I integrate the musical content with all other stimuli that my senses may experience'. Her experience represents a balanced mixture of intellectual and emotional qualities, which results in a specific form of spirituality typical of all her compositions. Musical logic has been derived from the content while the subtle personality of the composer is also reflected in the dynamics employed in her compositions which never reaches its climax in dramatic sound.
